Confidence, let's get it

Here are some of the things I've done to help me gain confidence.

Get pampered

Yes, go and get your nails done, hair did or spend a day at a spa. When we feel good, everything else will fall into place. Don't feel guilty about pampering yourself. Don't feel like you're vain or superficial. Getting pampered feels amazing!

Comfort is key

In my world, being comfortable means confidence. I don't like to wear anything that I have to keep adjusting. Some examples are 1.) wearing skirt that are too short that you keep pulling it down and my personal favorite, 2.) wearing heels even if you can't walk in them well.  You get the idea. The constant fixing of clothing is just not a good look. Looking uncomfortable, in general, isn't cute.

Be Adaptable

Ever been in an intimate setting with a group of people and there's at least one person who just have nothing to say or have no opinions about anything? Well, don't be that guy/gal! The ones who sit in corners, just quiet, not only are they uncomfortable but they make everybody else feel uneasy.
Be a wide reader, listen to different types of music, watch movies, read articles, get to know different cultures, eat different foods and etc. It's easier to talk about things you've experienced than something you just read. I like to think that I'm quite adaptable. You don't have to know everything but know enough to drive & hold conversations.

Stop Comparing yourself

Comparing yourself might just be the most toxic thing you can do to damage your self-esteem. It's discouraging, unproductive and destructive. Yes, I know, it's definitely not easy, especially when there will always be someone else better. Do find a role model but leave it at that. Don't try to be EXACTLY like the people you look up to. Also, not everyone has the same timing. Some get really lucky and succeed faster than others. Don't beat yourself up if you're taking a bit longer to be where you need to be. Instead, think about ways to improve yourself at your own pace.

Trust your choices

What I mean by that is stop caring about what people think of you. You have opinions, you make decisions and make sure you do them for you. You will not be given a gold star sticker by anyone else because let's be real, no one really cares. As long as you don't hurt anyone with your choice of actions, do what you want.

I hope this helps some of you. I know the world could be a bit pretentious but don't give in to that. Know who you are and what you want and go for whatever your heart desires (cliche, i know).
