Mixing Vintage & "Now" Pieces

Because of this big move, I'm laying low on shopping for clothes and shop for home essentials and decorations. I have to make my house a home. This is the start of my thrift-y shopping when it comes to clothes and just mix them with some of my newer things.

A great example is this outfit. I have this vintage silk pajama top that I got from Goodwill (I think). It's 100% silk and it's in perfect condition. You have to keep in mind that items in thrift shops are used so you really have to inspect the items before you buy them.

Because the top is over-sized and billowy, I paired it with the skinniest jeans I own and some flats. Another thing, the top has a very vintage-y feel and also has vintage details like fabric covered buttons and billowy sleeves. To keep it from looking too "old", I wore statement accessories like my gold "Willy Wonka" shades, my gold choker and black and gold jewelry. I love vintage things but I don't want to look vintage myself.

PS. I love anything silk but they wrinkle way too easily. I was just sitting on the train with my clutch on my lap and poof, wrinkles.
