Natural Hair Texture

Here are the steps, as well as the products I use, to tame my curly mane:

  1. Before washing my hair, I run my detangling brush through my hair. It helps separate my strands, which makes it easier to wash.
  2. I wash my hair with Kukui Oil Shampoo by Organix. I repeat until all the previous products prior to washing are off my hair. Then rinse.
  3. I use Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak by Kiehl's as my conditioner. This is a new discovery for me. Ahlyza recommended it when she fixed my hair color with bleach. THIS STUFF IS THE BEST! I leave it on my hair while I wash my face and body then rinse thoroughly.
  4. On my damp hair, I rub Raw Shea Butter Extra Moisture Transitioning Milk by Shea Moisture to moisturize my dry, bleached hair.
  5. To prevent frizz and hold the curls, I spray Coconut Hibiscus Hold Shine Moisture Mist also by Shea Moisture. I love their hair care because they are natural and sulfate-free.
  6. For added definition, I run Flawless Curls Extra Hold Mousse by TRESemme through my hair then blow dry upside-down with a diffuser to give my hair more volume. I don't really like my curls too defined or "crunchy" so I only use about half a handful of mousse.

Phew! It looks like it's a lot of work but I prefer this than frequently blow drying my hair straight. This hairstyle is a lot safer for my hair because I don't use a lot of heat and I'm putting a lot of moisture back into my super dry, bleached hair.
