Things That Keep Us Unhappy + How to Avoid them

Hi all! I feel like it's been a while since I last spoke about anythaaang.

In this day in age, I feel like more people are unsatisfied or never content, in general. At times we forget to take a moment & really enjoy what we have in our lives VS hashtagging everything with "#_____GOALS".

Today, I was feeling some type of way so I figured I blog about it.

 

What makes us unhappy & how to fix it...

 

1. Pessimistic attitude

I know sometimes it's a pain to get up in the morning & we usually say to ourselves, "Ugh, do I really need to work today?" or "Today is going to suck". See when you start your day with thoughts like these, it will be hard to get your mood up from there.
Try waking up with a positive outlook. Think of things you look forward to doing or seeing for that day. I'd give you examples but I'm cheesy so let me not. LOL!

2. Comparing yourself to others

Well, this one is pretty hard to do especially now that everyone we follow on social media seem to ALWAYS BE BETTER. That's the thing, someone will always be better & you just have to accept that. Remember, not everyone is the same & not everyone has the same timing. Some are luckier than others, some are born into success & some just worked for so long, way before you even thought about what you want to do.
Try focusing on your best assets, your own progress & goals. The less you compare yourself to "perfection" (which BTW, does not exist), the more focused you are on improving you. Look up to the "better" ones for inspiration & motivation. They're not there to discourage you.

3. Dwelling on bad memories

We all have bad memories, no one is exempt. Some are harder to forget than others but it really is advised to try and forget them. They're memories & they belong in the past. They shouldn't affect you now & they wouldn't affect your future.
If you're the type to remember hurtful memories because of a song or a place, avoid those songs or places. Don't do it to yourself.

4. Doing things for the wrong reasons

Why do you really do the things you do? Is it because everyone else is doing it? (oh gosh, I hope that's not your reason for anything!) Is it to for money? Is it to be famous? Is it to be happy? Please have a reason that will make you utterly happy.
Do figure it out & shoot for that. Don't take any shortcuts.

5. Associating yourself with negativity

"You are who you hang out with" well at least that's what I was told. But the more I grew older, the more I'm realizing that this is very true. Can you imagine being friends with somebody who are always negative? You know, the ones who love the drama or drama follows them? Oh lawd, I can't!
If it were up to me, I'd give those negative people a piece of my positive mind. Now if they don't understand, it's time to part ways. Ain't nobody got time for all that! Don't let anyone steal your sunshine by letting their dark clouds go over your mood.
