HEALING, HIKING & HAPPINESS

I wake up at 7am and I try to exercise a bit then get ready for work. I take NY public transportation surrounded by people rushing to get to work. I work non-stop and it's stressful. When my day job is done, I take NY public transportation again surrounded by people rushing to get home. I get home and relax for a bit then I realize I have to eat dinner. Sometimes I hit the gym. Then I have to collect all my energy to work on my jewelry designs and orders. I also draft blog posts and edit photos if I have spare time. If I have to do laundry or any chores or go to any meetings after work, my schedule goes out of whack. On weekends, I'm busier. I try to split my time between family, friends, meetings, shoots and events.

This is my normal day-to-day schedule, living in a busy city and all.

When you have a clear goal in mind, having a "can't stop, won't stop" mentality is great an all but you need to give yourself time to unplug from time to time. I know, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the city but you can't forget to take care of your mind, your body, your peace & your sanity.

My only tip:
Put your well-being first.

If you're not well mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually, how do you think you can achieve your goals?

Our idea of unplugging was going off-the-grid and being close to nature. We've been saying it for months and we just never got around to it.

For my boyfriend's birthday, I decided to gift him just that, a weekend AWAY from the concrete jungle, AWAY from the craziness, AWAY from our hectic day-to-day lives.

River House Boat cabin is the best. It's the only cabin with electricity in all of the 60-acre land.

Standing by the moss. They grow and sell moss, as well.

ABOUT STICKS AND STONES FARM

All the photos in this post were taken at Sticks and Stones Farm, a 60-acre family managed natural space in Connecticut.  It's known by its landmark stone barn and homegrown cabins. Also, they have an organic farm, which is a plus. Celine, the owner, said they serve organic breakfast in the summer. The main barn is large and they're also available for private events. If you like yoga, they offer classes as well.
The title of this post is their mantra. They pride themselves on being a unique and grassroots farm available to anyone interested in enriching their minds, bodies, and spirit. It's obviously the perfect place to unplug. I can honestly say this farm will be our go-to off-the-grid location because...

...they choose love.
