Wrap Pants + Manus x Machina

These wrap linen pants are my new favorite thing in my closet. Not only is it super comfy, the color is super cute, too. Yes, color! I'm really trying my best to bring some color into my world. I'm positive these were meant to be worn on the beach but on a 91-degree NYC heat, you'll pretty much wear anything comfy. And getting showered with a whole truck load of compliments about these pants ain't bad either!

I wish I can share a direct link to them but they were purchased from a street vendor in Brooklyn. Yes, you read right, bought it from those sidewalk vendors! Maybe I can just tell you where I bought it & hopefully he's still there.
The train stop is Court Street of off the R train, right across Borough Hall. I was meeting Audrey for dinner & I had a bit of time to kill. The stand attracted me because it had African prints and a whole lot of colors. I was going to buy a wrap skirt but the fabric was a little too stiff for summer. Then I found these $20 pants. No ifs, ands or buts, the pants went home to mama.

It's been a minute since we last checked out The MET Museum. It's such a huge place that you can get lost in & it can get overwhelming. Too many things to see & too much information to soak in. So over the years, I pretty much only go when there's a fashion exhibit.

This year they have Manus x Machine: Fashion in an Age of Technology, an "exhibition that explores how fashion designers are reconciling the handmade and the machine-made in the creation of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear". They have dresses made from 3-D printing materials, motorized dresses, dresses made out of metal, and dresses with unconventional silhouettes. It was a remarkable exhibit! We only got to witness the ground floor exhibit because the museum was jam packed & we figured we can go another day.

If you get a chance to go see it (exhibit ends Sept. 5, 2016), please do & make sure you go on a weekday so you can see everything.

Since I bought the pants from a street vendor, here are some style suggestions.
